CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & ENERGY MANAGEMENT POLICY
Get Serious Limited (Get Serious) helps companies to improve the way they bid and pitch in order to win work. Transparency and clear communication are integral to what we do, and we embed these commitments into our own business operations.
Since our founding in 2016, we have sought to demonstrate best practice in corporate social responsibility and energy management. By considering human rights alongside the social, economic and environmental impacts of our work, we aim to make a positive impact on society and the planet.
Caring for our people
We comply with all relevant legislation, acting as an Equal Opportunities Employer in line with the Human Rights Act 2010 and mitigating the risk of Modern Slavery in our business and supply chain. We take a person-centred approach, supporting staff with tailored training, personal development opportunities and access to counselling when appropriate. We ensure that pay and pension contributions are paid correctly and on time.
Supporting our customers
Our clients operate in the financial services, property and professional services sectors and we take our support for them very seriously indeed. We communicate often and openly, providing clear advice, actionable insight and a dedicated point of contact. By tracking industry trends and changes we maintain the quality of our services, and post-project feedback calls enable us to document and implement any suggested improvements.
As our clients continue their work to calculate and reduce the emissions in their supply chains, we are ready to support them by providing clear and accurate information on our own activities.
Working with suppliers
Get Serious is a microbusiness with a small supply chain, but we ensure that any suppliers we use are aware of our expectations and share our commitments. In return, they can expect fair payment terms, with invoices settled properly and on time, and a quick response to their queries.
Conserving natural resources
Through continued vigilance and small changes, we aim to minimise the environmental impact of our business activities.
Get Serious occupies one office within a multi-tenanted building. The landlord’s heating system uses timers and thermostats to conserve energy, and we monitor the temperature in our own office to keep our usage down while maintaining a comfortable working environment. To further conserve resources and reduce emissions, we:
- Use washable rather than single-use kitchen equipment
- Make use of office recycling points wherever appropriate
- Review documents online to avoid printing and paper use
- Encourage the use of public transport to attend client meetings.
Engaging our communities
Get Serious supports a local homelessness charity called Dacorum Emergency Night Shelter (DENS) through donations and also taking part in their annual sleepout event. In addition, the business premises are in The Apsley Paper Trail, a registered charity which preserves the heritage buildings from the paper-making industry in Hemel Hempstead and to educate people about how paper is made.
Monitoring progress annually
We review this policy every 12 months to consider what we have achieved and what improvements could be made.
